Heidi Foldover Clutch & Wristlet as present

Last week  I found several licensed fabrics from Walmart. The price is very reasonable. It is about 1/2 to 1/3 of the price from Joann’s. I picked up several pieces immediately.

I want to sew a small purse as a gift for my son’s teacher. I chose this super girls fabric to make a Heidi Clutch. I have made Heidi Clutch several times before here and here. I am using one every day right now. It is a super practical purse.

The fabric is in very thin cotton. I interfaced the fashion fabric with woven interface to strengthen the fabric, then fused a layer of fusible fleece interface per pattern instruction. This clutch is pretty soft.

I used a pair of slightly bigger magnetic snaps this time. However since the fabric is very thin, the snaps ‘snapped’ out of the fabric after the clutch is finished. I reinstall them through all layers and put some E6000 glue under the snaps.

There is a hidden zipper pouch in the back of the clutch. I love this zipper pouch. It is big enough for my phone, car keys and a small wallet.  img_20180614_0932263095300441919985465.jpg

I used pink cotton fabric for lining and accent piece. I really hope she will like it.

Have a beautiful day.
